VIRGINIA SEA DUCK HUNTING
Our Sea duck hunts take place in Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. We at Fourth Generation Outfitters made it our passion to chase all types of sea ducks!! We hunt the Lower James River, Lower Chesapeake Bay, all the way to Virginia/Maryland line. Hunting location is determined by the guides and based off of weather conditions, and where the birds are. Our Sea Duck hunts are a lot of fun. You get lots of shooting in, as these are tough birds to knock down! We recommend #1 or BB shot for Sea Ducks. In Addition to a Sea Duck hunt, Virginia also holds lots of Canvasbacks, Buffle Heads, Blue bills, Red heads, and Brant, just to name a few. All Sea Duck hunts stop at 1:00pm, this allows time for guides to scout for the next days hunt.
Layout Boats
Layout Boats are our perferred method to hunt sea ducks on the Chesapeake Bay. They keep you low to the water and out of site of low flying birds. We use a two man UFO layout boat. This allows 2 hunters at the same time to shoot. These UFO's are made by Waterfowl Works LLC. and are the best and most safest in the industry.
What To Know?
If weather conditions are not favorable for the Layout Boats, we will hunt out of our Sissor Rig.
Sunday hunting is allowed for waterfowl in Virginia, so we can extend our hunting and weekend seasons. Out of State license can be purchased online at www.gooutdoorsvriginia.com(estimate $100)
Waders are recommended for layout boats. May get a little spray in the boat on windy days.
Lodging can be done at many different locations. Due to wind & weather. We won’t know a location of your hunt until the afternoon before, once we scout. General areas for hotels are Suffolk , Virginia Beach, Hampton.
