At Fourth Generation Outfitters we specialize in North Carolina Guided Swan hunting. With 6 World Swan calling Championships, and 100% opportunity, there's no question that Fourth Generation Outfitters is the #1 place for Guided Swan Hunts in North Carolina!
North Carolina plays a vital role in the yearly cycle of the Eastern Population of tundra swans, wintering more swans, by far, than any other state on the East Coast. Each fall, approximately 65,000 – 75,000 swans migrate to northeastern North Carolina to take advantage of the abundant food sources. North Carolina is becoming a true trophy hunter’s paradise for Swan. North Carolina waterfowlers harvest more tundra swans than any other states. The chances are plentiful to obtain the Swan of your choice. North Carolina holds 4950 permits for use by both residents and non-residents.
Our North Carolina Guided Swan Hunts take place in Northeast North Carolina. Currently Fourth Generation Outfitters has over 20,000 acres of fields located in Currituck, Camden, and Pasquotank Counties.
Trophy North Carolina Guided Swan Hunts has a 100% opportunity on our field hunts. Your guide will set up the swan decoys, and each hunter will be given a white suit. Like our snow goose hunts, hunters will lay on goose chairs in the middle of the decoys. We also hunt out of A-frame blinds. Your Guide will do his best at picking out a nice white trophy swan. Your guide is not held RESPONSIBLE if the hunter shoots an undesired swan, or if the hunter shoots more than 1 swan!
We also hunt swans over the water on the Currituck Sound. Should there be no swan in the fields. They may be found on the sound, as this is the first place they stop off at. We will be hunting from a bush blind or sissor rig. Your guide will use his best judgment on whichever he thinks will be the best opportunity for a swan.
You also may add a swan hunt to a duck hunt. This is a good way for hunters who have a permit, and are looking to put an extra bird in the boat! There is no 100% opportunity for a swan during a DUCK hunt!
Hunters are allowed 1 swan per permit, per year!
Permits are awarded by a lottery. Hunters must apply between July1st and October 1st. Hunters must have a valid North Carolina hunting license at time of applying for a Tundra Swan Permit. You can apply by contacting the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission , or apply anywhere that sells North Carolina hunting licenses.
Hunters can also add other hunters to a permit party. A party number will be given to the Hunter that starts the permit party. Up to 5 hunters total can be added to a party. ALL Hunters must have a valid North Carolina hunting license at time of applying for a Tundra Swan Permit. Failure to have a valid North Carolina hunting license at time of applying, will automatically kick the whole party out of the system! Tundra Swan Permits are not 100% draw, nor has a money back guarantee if you, or your party is not awarded a permit!
Cost to apply for a North Carolina Tundra Swan Permit is $15.00 per hunter.
Fourth Generation Outfitters and their guides are not held responsible for forgotten permits, swans not harvested, hunters not receiving a Tundra Swan Permit, and if you accidentally shoot more than one swan!
